For the sights
L'Eixample, central Barcelona, is the neighbourhood to stay in! From here, you can immerse yourself in the city’s Modernista architecture, revel in the highly-rated dining scene and sleep in the shadow of Antoni Gaudí’s spectacular La Sagrada Família.
Bordering L’Eixample is the Grácia district, where you can find the Gaudí’s nature-inspired masterpiece, Park Güell. The Modernista fantasy sprawls across a landscaped estate in the northern hills, criss-crossing with paths perfect for exploring and marvelling the spectacular views of the city.
To soak up culture
There is no place like the Gothic Quarter. In the heart of the city, its walls reflect its history; completely unique to its modern neighbours you can feel the passage of time. Each narrow street and bodega has its own story. From here, La Ribera is close too, where the Museu Picasso de Barcelona sits.
Montjuïc is the place for all art buffs heading to Barcelona for its treasure trove of museums. The hillside neighbourhood in the west side of Barcelona is home to the 1992 Olympic Village, as well as vast art treasures in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and Fundació Joan Miró.
For some fun
Les Corts, in the north-west of the city, you will find Camp Nou the home of Barcelona FC, which any and all football fans will want to make a pilgrimage to. Book a tour, or, if you're lucky, get tickets for a home match! You'll also find Tibidabo, an old-fashioned amusement park and city views, is at the northern end of Les Corts too.
To the south, the waterfront in Barceloneta and El Poblenou has been transformed into a sparkling beach paradise that caters to every traveller – glass waterfront towers hold luxury hotels as well as have an excellent selection of bars and restaurants.
Two Passports Top Tips: Navigating the City
Barcelona has an excellent public transport system. A T-10 ticket will give you access to a network of buses and an easy-to-navigate metro will get you anywhere you want to go - The Citymapper app is available to help guide you through the city, and keep you updated with the latest transport network times and how to move around the city seamlessly.
