London is full of fantastic bars showcasing the world's best wine. We know this list could be controversial, as everyone has their personal favourite, so we've tried to pick our favourite five that are all slightly different from the other and have that extra je ne sais quoi that makes them sparkle.
Le Beaujolais
Tucked away in this unassuming corner of the capital's Theatre District is London's oldest French wine bar, serving authentic classic small plates like you're in Lyon.
WC
Head to Clapham Common for this secret wine bar that was once a public toilet. WC provides an intimate atmosphere of leather booths and stools with carafes of wine. Expect great cheese and charcuterie boards too. You can find its sister bar in Bloomsbury.
Bar Pepito
Step into this Spanish bodega and you'll forget you're tucked away round the corner of King's Cross! This hidden tavern in a regenerated part of London will have you drinking sherry and Rioja in no time.
Gordons
A hidden gem by the River Thames that teems with locals after a hard day's work. It claims to be London's oldest wine bar, serving theatre-goers for over 130 years in its romantic, candlelit cellar and atmospheric terrace by Victoria Embankment Gardens.
Lady of the Grapes
This wonderful wine bar round the corner from Covent Garden serves organic wine and French-style tapas.
